Job Description and Responsibilities
The appointed Engineers will work within dynamic, multidisciplinary teams and will be responsible for a range of critical tasks that vary according to engineering discipline (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) and project nature. General expected responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the technical planning and design of projects in accordance with international and local specifications and standards.
- Providing on-site supervision of construction phases, ensuring strict compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitoring the quality of materials, structural works, and installations, and preparing regular inspection reports.
- Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure work progresses smoothly according to the defined schedule.
- Reviewing and studying submitted Shop Drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors.
- Assisting in the preparation of technical and progress reports and managing project-related documentation.
- Adhering to and strictly enforcing all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards on the worksite.
- Identifying potential technical issues and proposing appropriate solutions in collaboration with the management team.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering) from an accredited university.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the relevant field, with preference given to experience on major construction and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region or Middle East.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in relevant engineering design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international building codes (e.g., ASTM, BS) and applicable local regulations and standards in the UAE.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. Ability to work within a team and manage time under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional Certifications: Professional certifications such as PMP, or membership in a recognized engineering institution (e.g., ASCE) are considered a strong advantage.
