Job Description
The Field Operator I will be assigned to the field operations team, responsible for a range of operational tasks under supervision. The role will focus on ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes at the designated site.
Key expected responsibilities and duties include:
- Monitoring and observing the performance of field equipment and systems (e.g., pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, pipelines).
- Performing routine operational, shutdown, and start-up procedures in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Recording meter readings, temperatures, pressures, and other process data in operational logs.
- Assisting in conducting routine visual inspections of equipment to detect any leaks, abnormal vibrations, or signs of corrosion.
- Supporting experienced technicians and operators in minor maintenance tasks and repairs.
- Strict adherence to all company and industry-specific safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Participating in safety and emergency drills.
- Prompt reporting of any abnormal conditions, malfunctions, or potential safety hazards to the immediate supervisor.
- Maintaining cleanliness and order in the work area (5S principle).
- Performing any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Education and Experience:
- A diploma in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering) or a high school diploma with relevant technical courses.
- Previous experience of 0 to 2 years in a similar role within the oil & gas, energy, or manufacturing sector is a significant advantage.
- Hands-on experience with industrial equipment or in an operational environment is preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
- Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions precisely.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in shifts (day/night) and in field conditions that may involve exposure to weather.
- Physical fitness to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, and occasional climbing.
- Basic knowledge of industrial site safety procedures.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Preferred Certifications (if available):
- Safety certifications such as (NEBOSH, IOSH, or locally recognized basic safety certificates).
- A valid driver's license.
