Glass Production Machines Technician - Kuwait

Job Description

The successful technician will be placed within an industrial facility specializing in glass production. The primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of glass production lines. Key duties include:

• Routine and Emergency Maintenance: Performing scheduled inspections of machinery, accurately diagnosing faults, and executing preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for all production line components, including furnaces, cutting machines, grinding/shaping machines, and automated control systems.
• Operation and Monitoring: Monitoring machine performance during operation cycles, adjusting technical parameters (such as temperatures, speeds, pressures) to achieve required product specifications, and intervening promptly to resolve any operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Quality and Safety Assurance: Working in strict adherence to quality procedures to ensure the final product meets specifications. Full compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety protocols in an industrial environment to prevent accidents.
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately recording maintenance data, operating hours, repaired faults, and production quantities. Preparing periodic technical reports on equipment status and suggesting improvements.
• Teamwork: Close coordination and collaboration with machine operators, supervising engineers, and the quality control team to achieve production targets.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a suitable candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or certificate in Mechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Equipment Maintenance, or any related technical field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and operating glass production machines or similar manufacturing machinery (e.g., ceramics, plastics). Experience in a Kuwaiti or Gulf industrial environment is preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical principles.
  • Ability to read technical and engineering diagrams.
  • Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills using appropriate tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Automated Control Systems (PLC) will be a significant advantage.
• Personal Skills: Accuracy and attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, reliability, effective communication skills, and the ability to work within a team.
