Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Group General Counsel will serve as the central figure for all legal affairs within Artan Holding. Responsible for leading the legal function, this individual will provide proactive and strategic counsel to the Board of Directors, CEO, and executive leadership team. The core responsibilities of this leadership role include:

• Strategic Legal Leadership: Developing and implementing a comprehensive legal strategy aligned with the group's business and investment objectives.
• Oversight of Legal Structure: Comprehensive management of the complex legal structure of the holding company and its subsidiaries across various sectors.
• Advisory and Guidance: Providing reliable and accurate legal advice on all matters, including corporate contracts, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), regulatory compliance, commercial issues, and dispute resolution.
• Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks facing the group, ensuring robust risk management frameworks are in place.

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university. A Master of Laws (LL.M) or other advanced legal qualification will be a strong advantage.
• Licensing: The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Qatar, or be immediately eligible to obtain such licensure.
• Experience: A minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive legal experience, with a significant portion spent in leadership roles within the private sector. Prior experience in holding companies or diversified investment groups is considered highly essential.
• Sector Expertise: Deep knowledge of Qatari laws and regulations, coupled with a sound understanding of the legal and commercial frameworks in the Gulf region.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a department or division, manage teams, and work effectively with board members and C-level executives.
• Personal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) in Arabic and English. Excellent analytical and negotiation skills. High integrity and sound judgment.
