Gyro Survey Supervisor / MWD Engineer Job in Kuwait

In this dual-capacity role, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising advanced Gyroscopic Survey operations, used for precise wellbore orientation in 3D space, and performing as an MWD Engineer responsible for downhole measurement systems and real-time data transmission to the surface during drilling.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide field-based technical supervision for all gyroscopic survey operations on the worksite.
• Operate, maintain, and configure advanced MWD (Measurement While Drilling) tools and systems.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of all survey and measurement data, analyzing it to provide technical recommendations.
• Prepare and submit daily technical reports to operations management and clients.
• Strictly adhere to all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols and procedures.
• Train and mentor less experienced technicians and engineers within the team.
• Coordinate work with other site teams, including drilling, geology, and operations.
• Manage survey and measurement equipment inventory, ensuring all tools are serviceable and ready for use.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or a Higher Technical Diploma with equivalent experience.
• Proven practical experience of 5 to 7 years in Gyroscopic Surveying and/or MWD systems within the oil and gas industry.
• In-depth knowledge of international oil industry standards and protocols (e.g., API).
• Excellent proficiency in specialized software for survey and drilling data analysis.
• Ability to work extended rotations in remote field locations and on work sites.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise a technical team.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken (Arabic language skills will be a distinct advantage).
• Possession of basic safety certifications (e.g., H2S, T-BOSIET, or equivalent) is required or must be obtained upon hiring.
