Job Overview
The Internal Audit Manager will hold a pivotal role within the organization's governance and oversight structure. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing the internal audit function, ensuring the effectiveness of the internal control system, and assessing and managing operational and financial risks. They will work closely with senior management and the audit committee to provide independent, objective insights that enhance operational efficiency and improve financial performance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the internal audit team and develop its annual and strategic plans based on a comprehensive risk assessment.
- Design and execute comprehensive audit plans to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with internal policies and procedures, and adherence to local and international standards.
- Conduct risk-based reviews and assessments across the Group's diverse operational and functional units.
- Prepare clear, concise audit reports highlighting findings and recommendations, and follow up on the implementation of corrective action plans with relevant departments.
- Advise management on process improvements, governance enhancement, and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in resource utilization.
- Review and evaluate safety, security, quality assurance processes, and asset safeguarding.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards (e.g., IPPF - International Professional Practices Framework).
- Liaise and coordinate effectively with external auditors to ensure efficient audit coverage.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree or relevant advanced professional certification is a strong advantage.
- A recognized professional certification in auditing or accounting such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CPA (Certified Public Accountant), or CA (Chartered Accountant). The CIA certification is highly preferred for this role.
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of practical experience in internal or external auditing, with at least 3 years in a managerial or assistant manager role leading an audit team.
- Deep experience working within a large, diversified corporate environment, with a strong understanding of risks across different sectors (construction, trading, manufacturing, services).
- Excellent knowledge of International Auditing Standards, risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO), and corporate governance principles.
- Exceptional analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify root causes and propose practical solutions.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English, with the confidence to present findings to senior management.
- High degree of integrity and professional ethics, with the ability to maintain independence and objectivity.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on developing team members.
