Tawteen Company in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, is currently accepting applications for the position of IT Manager. This is a significant opportunity for experienced professionals seeking to lead the Information Technology department within a dynamic work environment. The role is central to enhancing the company's technological infrastructure and ensuring the efficiency and security of all information systems that support its daily operations and business functions.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The IT Manager will hold a critical leadership position within Tawteen's structure. The primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Strategic Planning: Leading the IT team and developing a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives. This involves budgeting, development plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the management and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and communication hardware. Ensuring high availability and performance while minimizing downtime.
  • Information Security: Developing and implementing robust security policies and procedures to protect the company's digital data and assets from cyber threats and breaches. Managing backup systems and disaster recovery strategies.
  • User Support & Operations: Ensuring effective technical support is provided to all company staff, resolving technical issues promptly, and managing vendor and service provider relationships.
  • Project Management: Leading and implementing new IT projects from planning to delivery, adhering to set timelines and budgets.
  • Compliance & Development: Staying updated on the latest IT trends and technologies and evaluating their suitability for the company's needs. Ensuring all systems comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

To qualify for this leadership role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications will be a distinct advantage.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the IT field, with at least 3 years of proven experience in a leadership role (Manager or Team Lead). Experience in a similar business environment or within the localization/human resources sector is highly valued.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of network management (e.g., Cisco, Juniper), operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), cloud solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure), and information security. Experience with database management (SQL) and ERP systems is essential.
  • Soft Skills & Leadership: Strong leadership and management abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. The ability to make decisions and solve complex problems under pressure. High-level organizational and project management skills are required.
  • Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or major vendor certifications from Microsoft or Cisco is a significant competitive advantage.
