Job Description and Responsibilities

The Specialist/Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the network and systems infrastructure for the company and its clients. Key responsibilities include:

• Proactive Monitoring: Continuously monitor the performance of networks, servers, applications, and services using specialized tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or similar, for early detection of any failures or performance issues.
• Incident Management and Response: Act as the first line of defense to receive alerts, diagnose the root cause of outages, prioritize them, and initiate swift response actions according to established protocols (Runbooks). This involves coordinating with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document all incidents and actions taken in a Ticketing System such as Jira Service Desk or Zendesk. Prepare periodic reports on system performance, availability rates, and root cause analysis for recurring problems.
• Routine Maintenance and Implementation: Assist in executing planned maintenance activities for systems during off-peak hours and implementing authorized changes to hardware and software configurations.
• Compliance and Security Assurance: Monitor security indicators and assist in enforcing company policies to ensure information security and infrastructure compliance with agreed standards.
• Support and Communication: Provide basic technical support and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to inform them of service status and any ongoing outages.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of practical experience in a similar role (e.g., NOC Analyst, NOC Engineer, Network Support Engineer) within a corporate environment or with an IT services provider.
• Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and threat monitoring.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, capacity to work under pressure and in shift patterns (which may include nights or weekends), strong communication and documentation skills, and teamwork.
• Professional Certifications (A Plus): Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, or platform-specific monitoring certifications.
