Job Description
The Junior Technician will be assigned to the maintenance and operations team, responsible for assisting in the installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of measurement and control instruments used in industrial processes. He/She will work under the supervision of senior technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation devices such as pressure, flow, and temperature gauges, and analytical equipment.
- Support periodic calibration processes of instruments according to specified standards and technical specifications.
- Participate in the installation and initial commissioning of new equipment under guidance.
- Assist in diagnosing simple faults and reporting complex issues to more experienced technicians.
- Read and follow basic technical drawings and schematics (P&IDs, loop diagrams).
- Strictly adhere to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures on site.
- Maintain records and technical reports related to maintenance and repair work.
- Collaborate with other work teams such as electrical and operations to ensure system integration.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
- A Diploma in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanics, or a related technical field.
- Recognized training certifications in instrumentation or safety are preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- 0 to 3 years of practical experience in instrumentation and control maintenance, preferably in an industrial environment (e.g., Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Power, or Manufacturing).
- Basic understanding of the working principles of analog and digital measuring instruments.
- Ability to use basic measurement and calibration tools.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team and potentially in shift patterns if required.
- Physical fitness to work in industrial environments and occasionally in elevated or confined spaces.
- Proficiency in English for reading and comprehension (to read technical manuals and instructions). Knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
