Laboratory Manager - Civil - United Arab Emirates

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Civil Laboratory Manager to join a professional team in the United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all operations of the civil laboratory, including team management, ensuring test quality, and compliance with local and international standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the management of the materials and engineering testing laboratory.
• Ensure the application of the highest quality and safety standards in all laboratory procedures.
• Manage and guide a team of engineers and technicians to achieve maximum productivity.
• Supervise the execution of various material tests such as concrete, soil, and asphalt.
• Review and evaluate test results and prepare accurate technical reports.
• Ensure periodic calibration and maintenance of all laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the laboratory.
• Liaise with clients and contractors and provide necessary technical consultations.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and standards in the field of engineering materials testing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in managing civil laboratories.
• Proven experience in managing a large and diverse team.
• Deep knowledge of international testing standards (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, BS) and local regulations.
• Proficiency in using specialized computer software for laboratory management and data analysis.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills in both Arabic and English.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
• Recognized professional certifications in quality management or laboratory management (e.g., ISO 17025) are a plus.
