Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Master Planning & Reporting Engineer will be responsible for the critical planning and monitoring aspects of the project lifecycle. Core duties include:
- Developing Master Project Plans: Creating and maintaining detailed, integrated project plans (master schedules) using specialized software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and budget.
- Reporting and Monitoring: Generating periodic project performance reports (weekly, monthly) for management and stakeholders. This involves analyzing variances from the baseline plan, identifying critical tasks, and providing actionable insights.
- Data and Risk Analysis: Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of progress data, identifying potential risks and challenges that may impact the schedule, and proposing mitigation plans.
- Coordination with Project Teams: Working closely with project managers, design engineers, construction contractors, and procurement teams to ensure the accuracy and integration of received data into project plans.
- Plan Adjustment and Updates: Regularly reviewing and updating project plans to reflect actual progress, the impact of change orders, and any adjustments to the scope of work.
- Decision Support: Providing senior management with accurate information and analysis necessary for making informed decisions regarding resource allocation and priority sequencing.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or a related field) from an accredited university. Advanced professional certifications are a strong plus.
- Work Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in a similar role (Project Planner, Planning Engineer) within the construction or project management sector, preferably on large-scale infrastructure or complex building projects.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in project planning software, with a strong emphasis on Oracle Primavera P6. Solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (especially Advanced Excel) is essential.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work under pressure and meet challenges.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of project management principles (PMI), project development phases, and construction methodologies.
