Job Overview

The Network Support & Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the company's and its clients' network infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational continuity, data security, and the efficient performance of network systems. The engineer will work within a dynamic team of security and technology specialists, focusing on delivering robust and scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Design & Implementation: Contribute to the design and deployment of new network infrastructure (wired and wireless), adhering to security and efficiency standards.
• Maintenance & Support: Manage and maintain existing infrastructure components such as Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance and health using specialized tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network and connectivity faults quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.
• Security Enhancement: Implement and update network security policies, ensure firmware updates, and participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Documentation: Create and update technical documentation for network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Technical Support: Provide Level 2/3 technical support to the IT support team and internal clients regarding network-related issues.
• Continuous Development: Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in networking and security.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Academic Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field.
• Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3-5 years in network and infrastructure engineering and support. Experience in security environments or with security service providers is a strong advantage.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of professional certifications such as Cisco's (CCNA/CCNP), or similar from vendors like (Juniper (JNCIA), Palo Alto, Fortinet) is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of network and routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, VPN).
  • Hands-on experience in managing and configuring network equipment from major vendors (Cisco, Juniper, HPE Aruba).
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application to network infrastructure.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
  • Knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during emergency situations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork and collaboration with other technical teams.
