Job Description and Responsibilities
The engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing operations and maintenance systems within the facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the daily operational processes of systems and equipment to ensure they run according to specified standards with maximum efficiency and safety.
- Developing and implementing preventive and corrective maintenance plans for equipment and machinery to enhance their operational lifespan and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Diagnosing technical faults, analyzing root causes of problems, and proposing effective engineering solutions.
- Monitoring system performance, collecting data, and preparing detailed performance reports on operations and maintenance for management.
- Ensuring full compliance with all applicable local and international Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.
- Working closely with other teams such as technicians, operators, and project engineers to achieve operational goals.
- Contributing to process improvement by proposing and implementing initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Training and supervising junior or less experienced technicians and operators on routine tasks and standard procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or any engineering discipline relevant to operations and maintenance.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in the operations and maintenance of industrial plants or major utilities. Experience in sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, Water, or Manufacturing is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and control systems.
- Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like SAP or Maximo.
- Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical drawings.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of the Arabic language is considered an additional advantage.
