Job Description
The Project Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role within the sales team, responsible for generating and managing technical, project-based sales opportunities. The role involves close collaboration with both potential and existing clients, as well as internal engineering teams to ensure the delivery of appropriate solutions.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Identify and target new sales opportunities in the market, focusing on projects requiring an engineering or technical solution.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, procurement engineers, and project managers.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical and commercial proposals to clients, including product specifications and preliminary drawings as needed.
- Manage the entire project sales cycle, from initial lead generation through to contract negotiation and handover.
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, acting as the key liaison between the client and the internal engineering team.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing regular reports on performance and sales targets.
- Attend trade shows and industry events to represent the company and expand professional networks.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related technical field). A master's degree or certifications in sales management would be an added advantage.
- Experience: Proven track record of 3-5 years in project sales or engineering sales, preferably within the general trading sector or related industries in the Middle East market, specifically the UAE.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of the technical products or systems handled by the company. Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Sales & Communication Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to deliver compelling presentations. Must be fluent in English (written and spoken). Arabic language proficiency is a significant advantage.
- Personal Attributes: A proactive, results-oriented individual with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong organizational and management skills to handle multiple project pipelines simultaneously.
- Additional Requirements: The applicant must possess a valid UAE residence visa and a valid driving license.
