Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The appointed Civil Project Engineer will be directly responsible for overseeing the execution phases of civil and construction projects, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. Core responsibilities include:

• Technical Supervision: Supervising construction and building operations on-site, reviewing engineering plans and drawings, and ensuring implementation matches approved technical specifications.
• Project Management: Contributing to the planning, organizing, and monitoring of the project schedule, tracking work progress on a daily and weekly basis.
• Cost Control: Assisting in the preparation and monitoring of the project's estimated budget, tracking expenditures, and working to achieve financial targets.
• Coordination & Supervision: Coordinating with contractors, suppliers, consultant engineers, and the work team to ensure smooth operations. Supervising and directing work teams on-site.
• Quality & Safety Control: Ensuring the application of all quality assurance protocols and occupational health and safety programs at the project site, and preparing relevant periodic reports.
• Problem Solving: Identifying challenges or technical problems that may arise during execution, proposing appropriate solutions, and working on their implementation in coordination with management.
• Documentation & Reporting: Preparing regular technical reports on work progress, project status, and any deviations from the plan, and submitting them to direct management.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in managing and executing civil and construction projects, with a proven track record of successful projects. Experience in infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, public utilities) is a significant advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction standards and specifications in Qatar and the region, and knowledge of safety systems (e.g., Ripl system).
• Personal Skills: Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across various levels (technicians, contractors, management). The candidate must be able to work under pressure and make decisions.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using basic computer software and relevant engineering programs (such as AutoCAD, and project management software like MS Project or Primavera P6).
