Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The Civil Project Manager will be entrusted with leading and managing comprehensive construction projects from inception to final handover. Core responsibilities include:
- Leadership & Planning: Leading the project team, including engineers, supervisors, and contractors. Developing detailed project plans, realistic schedules, accurate budgets, and ensuring adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Control & Supervision: Direct on-site supervision of all construction execution phases to ensure work complies with approved technical specifications, designs, and the highest quality standards.
- Resource Management: Effective management of human and material resources (materials, equipment) to achieve project objectives within time and financial constraints.
- Safety & Quality: Bearing full responsibility for the implementation and enforcement of all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations on the worksite. Ensuring compliance with Total Quality Management (QA/QC) standards.
- Coordination & Communication: Acting as the primary liaison between all stakeholders, including company management, clients, subcontractors, consultants, and relevant government authorities. Preparing regular progress reports.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential project risks (technical, logistical, financial) and developing proactive mitigation and contingency plans.
- Delivery: Ensuring project delivery to the client on time, within budget, and to the required quality, while resolving any obstacles or disputes that may arise.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree or advanced professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CIOB) will be a strong advantage.
- Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in managing construction projects, with a proven track record of successfully delivering medium to large-scale projects. Experience in the UAE or GCC construction market is highly preferred and often essential.
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, reading drawings and specifications, and planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Comprehensive understanding of local building codes and regulations in Abu Dhabi/UAE.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership and decision-making abilities with excellent team motivation skills. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills (verbal and written). Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively. Precision, discipline, and reliability.
- Logistical Requirements: The applicant must be resident in the United Arab Emirates and possess a valid driving license.
