Job Description

The QA QC Civil Inspector will be integrated into the company's project engineering team. The core focus of the role is to ensure that all civil and structural works are executed in compliance with the highest quality standards, technical specifications, and applicable local and international regulations. This position serves as a critical link between design and on-ground execution.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular and ongoing inspections at construction sites to verify the quality of materials and civil works.
• Review and inspect engineering project plans and specifications prior to and during execution.
• Ensure contractors and executing teams comply with contract conditions and agreed-upon quality specifications (QA/QC Plans).
• Prepare daily inspection reports, document any work deficiencies or non-conformities, and follow up on corrective actions until resolution.
• Inspect and test construction materials (e.g., concrete, reinforcement steel, bricks, etc.) upon site delivery to ensure they match certificates and specifications.
• Coordinate with project engineers and construction managers to provide technical feedback and ensure work progresses according to schedule.
• Participate in project-specific quality and safety meetings.
• Ensure the application of occupational health and safety standards in the work area related to civil activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A technical diploma may be considered with more extensive experience.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of recognized quality control certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, or certified inspector credentials from international bodies) is highly preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in a similar role (Civil Inspector or Quality Engineer) within construction and building projects, preferably in the Gulf region.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of international building codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS) and local Omani specifications.
  • Proficiency in material inspection and testing procedures.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Personal Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Integrity and objectivity in issuing judgments and reports.
  • Proficiency in computer use and MS Office applications.
