Job Overview
The Quality Lead will occupy a pivotal role at SOMS, serving as the primary authority for leading, implementing, and monitoring Total Quality Management (TQM) strategies and systems. This role aims to ensure all processes and services comply with internal standards and international specifications, thereby enhancing the company's reputation, customer satisfaction, and supporting its sustainable growth in the Omani and regional market.
Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS) in line with recognized international standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Establish quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor them to measure process effectiveness.
- Conduct periodic internal audits and ensure preparedness for external audits by clients or certification bodies.
- Analyze quality-related data (e.g., error rates, customer complaints) to identify areas for improvement and lead corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Design and deliver training programs for company staff to foster a quality culture and awareness of performance standards.
- Work closely with department heads and senior management to integrate quality principles into all business aspects.
- Prepare detailed quality performance reports and present recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
- Oversee the investigation of non-conformities and ensure the implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications in Quality (e.g., CQA, CMQ/OE) may be a distinct advantage.
- Proven work experience of at least 5-7 years in Quality Management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role such as Quality Lead, Quality Manager, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in applying international QMS standards (ISO 9001:2015 is likely essential).
- Strong analytical and statistical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make evidence-based decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) in both Arabic and English.
- Leadership ability to motivate teams and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- High organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with quality improvement tools such as Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt is a plus) or Lean methodology.
