Sales Engineer - Instrumentation

Doha Petroleum Construction Company is actively recruiting for the position of Sales Engineer specializing in Instrumentation (Instrumentation Sales Engineer) at its headquarters in Doha, Qatar. This role presents an excellent opportunity for ambitious engineers with a technical background in instrumentation, control systems, and automation to join a leading contractor in the oil, gas, and energy sector within the Gulf region.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Sales Engineer will be placed within the technical sales or engineering sales department and will be responsible for driving sales for the company's instrumentation-related solutions and products to its clientele in the market. The core responsibilities expected for this role include:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies for instrumentation and control product lines (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, and analytical transmitters, control valves, Distributed Control Systems - DCS, Programmable Logic Controllers - PLCs).
  • Identifying new sales opportunities within Qatar's oil & gas, energy, and petrochemical sectors, and pursuing potential clients.
  • Preparing technical and commercial proposals (Tenders & Proposals) based on client requirements and project specifications.
  • Providing direct technical support to existing and potential clients, including conducting technical presentations and demonstrating product features.
  • Working closely with internal engineering teams and the procurement department to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Building strong, long-term working relationships with key clients in the industry.
  • Monitoring market trends and competition within the instrumentation and control field.
  • Achieving agreed-upon sales targets and quotas.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience of 3 to 5 years in sales of engineering products or solutions, with a strong focus on Instrumentation & Control products for the oil & gas, petrochemical, or power industries.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of instrumentation and control principles, devices, and automation systems used in industrial facilities.
  • Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation and customer persuasion abilities, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Personal Skills: Superior verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive, dynamic, and results-oriented personality.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Familiarity with the oil & gas market in Qatar, including key contractors and clients, is a significant advantage.
