Scheduling Control Section Head - Hill International (Riyadh)

Hill International (Middle East) Ltd., a leading global project management and risk management consultancy, is actively recruiting for a Scheduling Control Section Head to be based in its Riyadh, Saudi Arabia office. This position represents a strategic leadership opportunity within a dynamic environment working on some of the region's most complex and ambitious projects.

Job Overview

The Scheduling Control Section Head will be responsible for the overall leadership and supervision of scheduling and progress control activities for a diverse portfolio of major projects, particularly in the construction, real estate development, and infrastructure sectors. At the core of this role is ensuring schedule accuracy, monitoring performance against baselines, and providing critical analytical insights to support executive decision-making.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Leadership & Supervision: Lead and direct a specialized team of schedule planners and control analysts, delegate tasks, and ensure the highest quality standards in all outputs.
  • Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and review detailed project schedules using specialized software (e.g., Primavera P6), ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and objectives.
  • Analysis & Monitoring: Regularly monitor project progress, analyze variances from the baseline schedule, and identify potential impacts and risks to the overall timeline.
  • Reporting: Prepare high-level periodic schedule performance reports (monthly, weekly) for senior management and project owners, highlighting critical issues, critical paths, and recovery recommendations.
  • Integration & Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration and consistency of scheduling data across all project facets.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and implement scheduling and control standards and best practices, conducting internal schedule audits to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical), Project Management, or a related field. Professional certifications such as PMP, PSP, or advanced Primavera P6 certification are a significant advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10-12 years of hands-on experience in project planning and scheduling, with a substantial portion (at least 5-7 years) in a leadership or supervisory role within a planning/scheduling department. Experience on major construction and infrastructure projects in the Middle East (especially Saudi Arabia) is highly desired.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in project planning software, with a strong emphasis on Oracle Primavera P6. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suites, particularly Advanced Excel.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Superior written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English. The ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to all management levels.
