Job Overview
The BIM Manager for Infrastructure will play a central role in leading and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodologies across a portfolio of strategic infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the highest international standards, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and leveraging technology to enhance design accuracy, execution efficiency, and risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the development and implementation of BIM strategy and protocols for major infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, transportation, utilities).
- Oversee the creation and management of multi-disciplinary BIM models, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Establish and manage project-specific BIM standards and data exchange requirements.
- Facilitate collaboration between design teams, contractors, and the client using common BIM platforms.
- Provide guidance and training to the project team and stakeholders on BIM processes and tools.
- Monitor compliance with agreed BIM standards and prepare performance reports.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in BIM technologies, software, and their applications in infrastructure.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure project objectives are met within schedule and budget constraints.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in BIM, with a strong focus on major infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within BIM management.
- Deep proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and coordination tools like BIM 360.
- Comprehensive knowledge of global BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and local practices in the Gulf region.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
