Job Description

The Senior Accountant will hold a pivotal role within the Group's finance department. Key responsibilities will focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial transactions and reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to support company operations and strategic decision-making based on sound financial data.

The expected duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing and analyzing periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Overseeing general ledger, expenses, and accounts payable/receivable operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS) and the company's internal policies.
  • Contributing to the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and monitoring performance against them.
  • Managing bank reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Assisting with internal and external audit processes and providing required documentation.
  • Improving financial processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Providing management reports and analyses to support decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a significant advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of practical experience in accounting or finance, with preference given to experience in large private sector companies or diversified groups. Previous experience in the UAE or the Gulf region will be highly regarded.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Hands-on experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle is essential.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. Ability to work under pressure, meet challenges, and function effectively within a team.
