Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will play a central role in managing the company's financial affairs. The core focus will be on ensuring accuracy and efficiency in both daily and strategic accounting operations. The successful candidate is expected to make immediate and valuable contributions to the team.

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include:

• Overseeing the preparation of financial statements and periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Managing period-end closing processes (month-end and year-end) accurately and in a timely manner.
• Contributing to the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts to aid management in strategic decision-making.
• Reviewing and monitoring accounts payable and receivable, ensuring the integrity of reconciliation processes.
• Supervising general accounting operations, including the general ledger, expense, and revenue accounts.
• Ensuring compliance with local tax regulations in the UAE and preparing relevant tax filings.
• Working closely with internal and external audit operations and providing required documentation.
• Improving and formalizing accounting procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
• Providing guidance and support to other members of the accounting team.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications (such as CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a significant and highly desirable advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with progressive responsibilities. Previous experience in a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor role is required.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Hands-on experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is essential.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). A solid understanding of UAE tax laws and regulations.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and investigative skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English. A team player with leadership and mentoring abilities.
