Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:

• Technical Supervision: Providing technical leadership and direct supervision over the design and execution phases of assigned infrastructure and structural projects.
• Project Management: Actively contributing to project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring to ensure adherence to budget and timelines.
• Quality & Safety Control: Ensuring all construction works and materials comply with approved technical specifications and the highest standards of quality and occupational safety.
• Coordination & Liaison: Acting as a central point of contact between all project stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, consultants, and relevant government authorities.
• Design Review: Reviewing and scrutinizing engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications to identify any potential clashes or constraints prior to and during execution.
• Reporting: Preparing comprehensive and periodic technical reports on work progress, risks, proposed solutions, and presenting them to senior management.
• Problem-Solving: Identifying technical and field-related challenges that may arise and working to develop practical and effective solutions in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Essential Requirements

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on managing and executing major infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, buildings, utilities). Previous experience in a similar working environment in the GCC, particularly Qatar, is a significant competitive advantage.
• Professional Certifications: Possession of globally recognized professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Chartered Engineer status) will be highly regarded.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in engineering design and analysis software (such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, SAP2000) and project management software (like MS Project or Primavera P6).
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage work teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Qatar.
