Job Overview

The Senior Contracts Management Engineer will be responsible for the vital contract administration aspects of major construction and development projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with contractual terms, managing risk, and protecting the company's interests and relationships with clients and contractors. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic, multicultural environment, contributing to the success of complex projects from inception through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer and execute all project contract-related aspects, including contracts with contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Review and analyze contract terms, conditions, and specifications to identify obligations, risks, and opportunities.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports on contract status, risks, and potential issues to senior management.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of contractual claims and defend against counterparty claims.
  • Advise and guide the project team on contractual matters and disputes.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant local and international laws and regulations.
  • Participate in contract negotiations, amendments, and change orders.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive contract records for all projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and finance departments to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical) from a recognized university. A Master's degree in Business Administration or Contract Law will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in contracts management, with a strong focus on the construction, infrastructure, or project management sector.
  • Proven hands-on experience working on major projects in the Middle East, preferably within Saudi Arabia.
  • In-depth knowledge of common international contract forms (e.g., FIDIC).
  • Exceptional analytical and deductive skills with the ability to interpret complex documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage teams and influence stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
  • Good knowledge of project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) will be an advantage.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
