Job Description
The Senior MHE Technician will be assigned to the maintenance team, primarily responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the material handling equipment fleet. This equipment typically includes forklifts (diesel, electric, LPG), cranes, conveyors, and other mechanized equipment used for storage and transportation. The technician will work on-site in Dubai and will be part of a dynamic team committed to high standards of quality and safety.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance (PM) on all MHE according to a defined schedule and manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
- Inspect equipment prior to operation to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Handle and repair emergency breakdowns promptly and efficiently to ensure operational continuity.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including fault reports and parts used.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable workplace safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced technicians when needed.
- Manage inventory of critical spare parts and requisition necessary maintenance supplies.
- Collaborate with operations supervisors and equipment operators to understand issues and improve equipment performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Qualifications and Experience:
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or a recognized technical certification in equipment maintenance.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in maintaining and repairing Material Handling Equipment (MHE), with preference given to experience in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment.
- In-depth knowledge of hydraulic systems, low-voltage electrical systems, engines (diesel/gas/electric), and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals.
- Previous experience working with common MHE brands (e.g., Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Caterpillar) is a strong advantage.
