Senior QA/QC Engineer in the Energy Sector - Qatar

Job Description
The Senior Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer will be assigned to energy project sites. The core responsibilities will focus on ensuring all engineering and construction works comply with international standards, project specifications, and applicable local regulations in Qatar. The engineer will act as a critical liaison between management, contractors, and vendors on the ground to monitor quality at every stage.
Key Expected Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) plans.
- Conduct periodic inspections and tests on materials, equipment, installation, and construction processes.
- Review and approve quality documentation submitted by contractors (Quality Plans, Test Reports, Calibration Certificates, etc.).
- Identify and report non-conformances, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved codes (e.g., ASME, API, AWS) and relevant international standards.
- Coordinate with process, project, and supervision engineers to oversee quality processes.
- Prepare regular reports on project quality status and conduct quality meetings.
- Perform internal audits of quality systems to ensure their ongoing effectiveness.
Requirements and Qualifications
This position targets highly experienced professionals, with essential requirements including:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or a related field) from an accredited university.
- Professional Certifications: Recognized professional certifications are highly preferred (e.g., CQI/IRCA Certified Lead Auditor, AWS CWI, NACE, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance/Control (QA/QC), with a proven track record in energy sector projects (oil, gas, petrochemicals, or renewables) or major construction projects.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international quality standards (ISO 9001) and industry-specific engineering codes (ASME, API, ISO).
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication skills (Arabic & English), leadership and teamwork abilities, strong attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Knowledge of Qatar's regulatory body requirements and standards is a significant advantage.
