Job Description
The Senior Structural Engineer will be integrated into the Structural Engineering department, bearing responsibility for critical tasks that ensure the technical quality and structural integrity of projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Design & Analysis: Preparing and developing detailed structural designs and engineering calculations for complex construction projects, including high-rise buildings, major commercial developments, and infrastructure facilities.
- Plan Review: Reviewing and scrutinizing engineering drawings and plans submitted by contractors or consultants to ensure compliance with technical specifications, international codes (such as ACI, BS), and applicable local UAE standards.
- Technical Supervision: Providing technical support and supervision during various execution phases on-site, verifying the implementation of design specifications.
- Project Management: Working closely with project managers, engineers from other disciplines (architectural, MEP), and the site team to ensure harmony and integration across all engineering aspects.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Contributing to the development and implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs for structural works, prioritizing structural and site safety.
- Reporting: Preparing technical and engineering reports, and documenting all correspondence and project documents related to structural aspects.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be eligible for this distinguished role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in structural design and analysis, with a proven track record of working on major projects in the Gulf region, specifically within the United Arab Emirates.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in specialized structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, and AutoCAD. Proficiency in Revit is a significant plus.
- Professional Certification: Preference will be given to candidates holding a professional engineering license (e.g., Professional Engineer - PE) or an equivalent international certification.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English; Arabic is advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage time under project deadline pressures. Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
