Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed Senior Commissioning Technicians will be deployed in a dynamic field environment, where they will be responsible for the following specialized technical duties:

• Commissioning & Testing: Lead and execute the commissioning and pre-commissioning testing of new telecom systems and equipment before client handover or commercial launch.
• Integration & Installation: Assist in the installation and integration of core & access network equipment, transmission equipment, and fixed/mobile telephony systems.
• Configuration & Standards: Perform fine-tuning of equipment and ensure compliance with required technical specifications and standards set by the company and network operators.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose technical faults that arise during the initial commissioning phase and propose and implement appropriate solutions.
• Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports on commissioning and testing activities, accurately recording all observations and settings.
• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with design engineers, project engineers, maintenance technicians, and equipment vendors to ensure smooth commissioning processes.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols at the worksite and within the telecom industry.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

To be a qualified candidate for this important technical role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A diploma or degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in commissioning and maintaining telecom systems, with preference given to experience in a senior technician or technical supervisor role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Deep practical knowledge of telecom systems and networks (GSM, 4G/LTE, 5G, Fiber Optics, Microwave).
  • Experience working with equipment from leading market vendors (e.g., Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, ZTE).
  • Proficiency in using telecom-specific measurement and test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, power meters, optical fiber testers).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering schematics and diagrams.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work within a team and under pressure, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
• Other Requirements: Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) is essential. Candidates must have a valid residency permit in Qatar or be ready for immediate relocation.
