Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The Banking Solution Architect will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing integrated technological infrastructures and solutions that meet the strategic and operational needs of clients in the financial services and banking sector. You will work closely with internal teams and clients to translate business requirements into executable technical designs.

Key expected responsibilities include:

• Analyzing client requirements within the banking sector (retail, Islamic, investment, etc.) and identifying appropriate technological solutions.
• Designing comprehensive solution architectures encompassing applications, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
• Developing detailed Architectural Design Documents (ADDs), prototypes, and migration roadmaps.
• Providing technical consultancy to clients and internal stakeholders, explaining complex proposals in a clear and understandable manner.
• Leading or actively participating in the technical solution sales cycle, including preparing presentations and technical estimations.
• Collaborating with project managers, developers, and systems engineers to ensure the successful implementation of solutions according to design, budget, and timeline.
• Staying abreast of the latest technological trends in banking, such as Open Banking, Blockchain, AI, and Cloud Computing, and evaluating their applicability.
• Ensuring designed solutions comply with local and international financial sector regulations (e.g., UAE's Securities and Commodities Authority).

Qualifications & Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a Solution Architect or similar role with a primary focus on the financial services and banking sector.
• Deep knowledge of core banking systems, payment systems, and customer-facing channels (online & mobile banking).
• Proven mastery of software design principles and architectures (e.g., SOA, Microservices) and integration patterns.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud); relevant certifications are a significant plus.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management in a financial environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, from executives to technical staff.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Recognized professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or similar.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Knowledge of the UAE/GCC financial market and its regulatory landscape.
