Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Sourcing and Category Manager for Electronics will be placed at the core of strategic operations. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and Implementing Procurement Strategy: Leading the creation and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy for the electronics category, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Supplier and Relationship Management: Identifying, evaluating, and selecting global and local suppliers. Managing strategic relationships with key vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and best value.
  • Cost Optimization and Savings: Leading cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiation, process improvement, and market analysis without compromising quality.
  • Category Performance Management: Monitoring and analyzing the performance of the electronics category, including financial metrics, supplier performance, and supply chain risks.
  • Internal Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to understand requirements and ensure procurement strategy aligns with business needs.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks within the electronics supply chain, including supply risks, price volatility, and geopolitical factors.
  • Compliance and Sustainability: Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with regulations and internal policies, and promoting sustainable procurement practices where possible.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this leadership role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Proven experience of at least 7 years in procurement management or category management, with a strong focus on the electronics sector or electrical commodities. Experience in the Gulf or Middle Eastern market is a significant advantage.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) will be highly regarded.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Negotiation and Analytical Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills coupled with strong data and market analysis capabilities to make informed decisions.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Deep understanding of global electronics supply chain processes, regulations, and market trends.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic (preferred), with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
