Job Description and Key Responsibilities
The appointed Specialist Radiologist will be integrated into the hospital's Radiology Department and will be responsible for a range of critical tasks central to modern medical diagnostics. Core responsibilities include:
- Performing and interpreting a wide array of advanced medical imaging examinations, which may include: X-rays, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT) Scans, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
- Generating precise, clear, and comprehensive diagnostic reports based on imaging findings and effectively communicating results to referring physicians to aid in formulating appropriate patient treatment plans.
- Working closely with physicians from other specialties to provide expert consultative support in diagnostic imaging.
- Adhering to the highest standards of radiation safety and protection for both patients and staff.
- Contributing to quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the Radiology Department.
- Providing supervision and necessary guidance to radiographers and supporting staff within the department.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments and techniques in the field of diagnostic radiology.
Qualifications and Essential Requirements
To be eligible for this crucial role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: An MBBS or equivalent medical degree, followed by a recognized post-graduate specialization certificate in Diagnostic Radiology (e.g., Arab Board, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, FRCR, or equivalent).
- Licensing: Must possess a valid license to practice medicine from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), or be eligible to obtain one. Candidates holding a Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH) license will be preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of post-specialization experience working in a large hospital or multi-specialty medical center setting.
- Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to work effectively within a multicultural team. A high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to medical ethics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern medical imaging techniques and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
