Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The successful Store Keeper will be integrated into the logistics operations team at STARTECH FZC, tasked with a range of vital duties that underpin warehouse efficiency. The primary responsibilities for this role are expected to include:

  • Goods Receiving: Inspecting and receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders and invoices, and accurately recording them in the system.
  • Storage and Organization: Organizing goods within the warehouse in a systematic and safe manner that ensures easy accessibility and optimal use of space, while adhering to safety standards.
  • Goods Issuance: Picking, packing, and preparing outbound orders based on sales or departmental requests, and facilitating the dispatch process.
  • Periodic Inventory: Conducting regular inventory counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconciling physical stock with electronic records to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Record Maintenance: Updating inventory records manually and electronically using warehouse management software (if applicable), and maintaining accurate data for all inbound and outbound movements.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Ensuring the warehouse complies with occupational health and safety standards, and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment to prevent accidents.
  • Team Coordination: Working closely with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to resolve any inventory-related issues and meet internal and external customer requirements.

Qualifications and Key Requirements

To be a suitable candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum of a high school diploma. Certificates or training courses in warehouse management or logistics are preferred.
  • Experience: Previous practical experience of at least 1-2 years in a similar role (Store Keeper, Warehouse Assistant, Storeman) in any sector. Experience in the logistics or trading sector is a distinct advantage.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Accuracy and strong attention to detail when handling numbers and quantities.
    • Excellent organizational and arranging abilities.
    • Physical ability to work, including lifting and carrying boxes (within safe limits).
    • Honesty and reliability in handling assets.
    • Good communication skills for collaboration with colleagues.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel). Knowledge of any warehouse or inventory management software will be a significant advantage.
  • Other Requirements: Basic English proficiency for reading and writing (to read labels and invoices). Arabic language proficiency is required for effective communication.
