Job Overview

Key Expected Responsibilities and Duties
- Design & Analysis: Prepare and develop preliminary and detailed structural designs for various buildings and structures using specialized engineering software.
- Review & Calculations: Perform accurate structural calculations to ensure structures can withstand various loads (dead, live, seismic, wind) in compliance with the latest locally adopted codes in Abu Dhabi and international standards.
- Preparation of Drawings & Specs: Produce clear execution drawings and precise technical specifications for all structural elements to guide on-site execution teams.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with engineers from other disciplines (architectural, MEP) to ensure integration and coordination among all building systems.
- Site Supervision: Provide technical support and supervise construction activities on-site to ensure compliance with required designs and specifications.
- Contractor Proposal Review: Evaluate technical and structural proposals submitted by contractors and consultants.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Strictly adhere to quality and occupational safety standards at all project stages and contribute to identifying and resolving technical issues that may arise.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 to 5 years in structural design and/or construction project supervision. Experience in UAE or Gulf region projects is highly preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in structural design and analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Revit Structure.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international building codes (ACI, AISC) and local standards and regulations applicable in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to work within a team, accuracy and attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Language: Proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is a distinct advantage.
