Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Supervisor in Rigging & Lifting operations to join Al Habari Group in Qatar. The ideal candidate will be directly responsible for overseeing all rigging and lifting activities on site, ensuring they are carried out to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct rigging and lifting teams during daily operations.
- Plan and prepare for complex lifting operations, including selecting appropriate equipment (cranes, hoists, slings, chains, etc.).
- Ensure all rigging and lifting equipment is regularly inspected and maintained according to required standards.
- Strictly enforce occupational safety procedures and conduct risk assessments before each lift.
- Prepare and execute lift plans, reviewing them with the team.
- Train and guide workers on the latest safe lifting and rigging techniques.
- Monitor team performance and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on work progress and any incidents or malfunctions.
- Coordinate with other departments (Engineering, Procurement, Safety) to ensure smooth workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising rigging and lifting operations, preferably in construction, oil & gas, or infrastructure projects.
- A recognized certification in rigging and lifting (e.g., from a professional body).
- Excellent knowledge of international safety standards such as OSHA or NEBOSH (or equivalent).
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand load calculations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office).
