Technical Sales Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The selected engineer will be responsible for leading and growing the company's portfolio in the electrical and instrumentation sector. The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Business Development & Sales: Identifying new business opportunities, pursuing potential clients, and converting them into active customers. Meeting defined sales and revenue targets.
  • Technical Support & Consultancy: Providing specialized technical support to existing and prospective clients. Analyzing customer needs and designing/presenting appropriate technical solutions in the areas of electrical systems, measurement instruments, and control systems.
  • Proposal & Tender Preparation: Preparing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals (tenders) including technical specifications, preliminary drawings, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Building strong, long-lasting relationships with key accounts, understanding their long-term requirements, and ensuring their complete satisfaction with the services and solutions provided.
  • Internal Coordination: Acting as the key liaison between the customer and the internal engineering and procurement teams to ensure project execution according to agreed specifications and timelines.
  • Market Intelligence: Keeping abreast of the latest technological developments and trends in the electrical and instrumentation market in Qatar and the region, and reporting on them.

Requirements & Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in technical sales or application engineering, with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation products/systems. Experience in the Qatari or Gulf market is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control devices, pressure/temperature/flow measurement instruments (process control), and industrial automation systems.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic and English. The ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to customers.
  • Sales & Commercial Acumen: A strong understanding of sales principles, negotiation strategies, and account management. Proven ability to close deals.
  • Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, and highly self-motivated. Strong time-management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines are essential.
