Technician - Mechanical (Maintenance) - United Arab Emirates

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a team in the United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and industrial systems to ensure continuous, efficient, and safe operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, motors, and conveyors.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults using appropriate measuring and diagnostic tools.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs according to established schedules.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and catalogs to perform repair and installation tasks.
• Replace damaged or worn parts and adjust mechanical systems.
• Document maintenance activities and prepare technical status reports for equipment.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety standards at all times.
• Collaborate with the engineering team and other technicians to improve equipment performance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance, preferably in the industrial, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and basic electrical schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometer, vernier caliper).
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
  • Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
  • Commitment to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Certifications

• Occupational safety certification (e.g., NEBOSH or IOSH).
• Certified training courses in mechanical equipment maintenance.
