Testing & Commissioning Engineer - HVAC

Almoayyed Contracting Group, a leading name in the contracting and development sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is seeking to hire an experienced Testing & Commissioning Engineer specialized in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to join their engineering team at their headquarters in Manama. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the proper and efficient commissioning of HVAC systems in the post-construction phase, a critical role for project success and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning & Execution: Developing detailed test and commissioning plans for HVAC systems in accordance with approved technical specifications, designs, and international standards.
• Field Testing: Conducting comprehensive on-site testing sequences on all system components, including AHUs, chillers, pumps, air distribution systems, and control systems (BMS/DDC).
• Commissioning & Handover: Overseeing the system's initial start-up, fine-tuning operational parameters for optimal efficiency, and preparing final commissioning and handover reports.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Verifying that installed systems comply with all contract requirements, specifications, local regulations, and safety standards (e.g., ASHRAE).
• Coordination & Troubleshooting: Working closely with engineering, construction, vendor, and subcontractor teams to identify and resolve any technical issues arising during the testing and commissioning phase.
• Training & Support: Providing necessary training to the client's operation and maintenance staff on the new system and offering technical support during the warranty period.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this opportunity, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in testing and commissioning HVAC systems, preferably on large-scale contracting projects (shopping malls, hotels, hospitals, residential complexes).
• Technical Knowledge:
  • In-depth understanding of central air-conditioning system principles (Chilled Water Systems, VRF) and ventilation systems.
  • Strong grasp of Building Management Systems (BMS/DDC) and their protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and construction drawings.
• Personal Skills:
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to occupational health and safety standards on-site.
