Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Strategy Development: Lead the formulation and implementation of integrated access plans and value-based strategies for the Novartis product portfolio, aligning with global and local business objectives.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and manage long-term strategic relationships with key entities in the healthcare ecosystem, including the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Ministry of Health, Centers of Excellence, insurance providers, and other institutions influencing access and pricing policies.
- Value Demonstration: Spearhead value demonstration efforts by developing robust evidence materials (such as health economic outcome models) to support optimal pricing and reimbursement strategies.
- Market & Environment Analysis: Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and local health policies affecting medicine access, providing proactive recommendations for adaptation.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional internal teams including Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory at Novartis to ensure full alignment of access strategies with overall business efforts.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in Market Access, Pricing & Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), or similar strategic roles within the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Saudi Arabian healthcare system, drug registration processes, pricing and funding mechanisms, and the local regulatory landscape.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and influence-without-authority capabilities, coupled with exceptional communication and negotiation skills at all levels.
- Analytical Orientation: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable, evidence-based strategies.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree as a minimum in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Health Economics). A Master's degree (e.g., MBA, MPH) is a significant advantage.
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in both English and Arabic (spoken and written) is essential.
