Job Description

The successful Barista will be responsible for a range of core duties focused on quality and service, including:

• Preparing and serving a wide variety of coffee, tea, and other beverages to the highest standards and specified recipes.
• Ensuring the quality and presentation of every drink served, with a strong attention to detail and precision in measurements.
• Interacting directly with customers in a friendly and professional manner, understanding their orders and providing suitable recommendations.
• Maintaining constant cleanliness and organization of the work station (bar) and all equipment.
• Managing basic inventory of consumables such as coffee beans, milk, and syrups, and reporting any shortages.
• Handling cash and electronic payment transactions using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Working as part of a cohesive team with colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient operations, especially during peak hours.
• Adhering to all established health and safety standards within the establishment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Experience: Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role within a restaurant or cafe is preferred. Enthusiastic candidates with limited experience but a strong willingness to learn may also be considered.
• Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of coffee preparation and main types (espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.). Knowledge of alternative brewing methods is a plus.
• Personal Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive attitude, positive demeanor, and flexibility.
  • Neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Basic Requirements:
  • Proficiency in English for basic communication. Knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Possession of a valid Kuwaiti work permit (if applicable).
