Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The Civil Engineer / Estimator will be responsible for a range of vital tasks contributing to the success of the company's construction projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Cost Estimation: Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for new construction projects, including bid proposal analysis and preliminary feasibility studies. This involves calculating quantities of materials (concrete, steel, bricks, etc.), labor, and equipment costs.
• Document Analysis: Thoroughly studying engineering drawings and blueprints (plans, elevations, sections) and project specifications to fully understand the technical requirements.
• Bid Preparation: Contributing to the development and submission of competitive and comprehensive bids for clients or for government and private tenders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Communicating with material suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate quotes, ensuring the best value for money.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of practical experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on construction project cost estimation. Previous experience in contracting or construction consultancy firms is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in cost estimation and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, specialized estimating software like Bluebeam, or similar).
