Customer Service & Pricing Analyst (Freight Forwarding) - Doha

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for critical tasks that combine direct client interaction with meticulous cost analysis. Key responsibilities include:

• Customer Service & Communication: Receiving and handling customer Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for air and sea freight shipments. Communicating professionally and clearly with existing and potential clients to accurately understand their requirements, such as commodity type, weight, dimensions, origin/destination ports, and required deadlines.
• Cost Analysis & Quotation Preparation: Researching and sourcing the most competitive pricing and service options from the carrier network (airlines and shipping lines). Calculating the all-inclusive cost for shipments, covering main freight charges, fuel, security, handling fees at origin and destination, and any applicable local charges.
• Quotation Generation: Preparing professional, clear, and detailed freight quotations and presenting them to clients within the stipulated timeframe. Clearly explaining cost breakdowns and services included.
• Follow-up & Negotiation: Proactively following up on submitted quotations with clients and addressing any additional inquiries. Engaging in constructive negotiations with both clients and carriers to secure the best possible deals.
• Internal Coordination: Acting as the key liaison between the client and internal operational departments (e.g., operations, warehouse, customs). Ensuring confirmed bookings are executed according to the agreed terms and conditions.
• Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the customer and quotation database. Preparing periodic reports on pricing activity and conversion rates (from quote to firm booking).

Required Qualifications & Skills

To be a successful candidate for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in a similar role, such as freight customer service, freight pricing, or international transport operations. Previous experience working for a freight forwarding company is a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills: Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel for calculations and analysis. Familiarity with freight management software systems is a plus.
• Personal & Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic (required).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail abilities.
  • Effective negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
