QA/QC Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer - Jubail

A leading company in Jubail Industrial City is seeking a qualified Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Engineer specialized in Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) fields. Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The engineer will be responsible for ensuring the strict application of quality and safety standards across all electrical, instrumentation, and control aspects of industrial projects. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans for electrical and instrumentation works.
  • Conducting periodic inspections and reviews during the manufacturing, installation, testing, and commissioning phases of electrical equipment and instrumentation systems.
  • Reviewing and approving project documentation, including electrical schematics, cable routing diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrument specifications.
  • Ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC), local specifications, and client-specific requirements.
  • Coordinating and conducting tests for electrical equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, motors) and instrumentation systems (transmitters, control valves, control systems).
  • Documenting all inspection and test results, preparing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required, and following up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Working closely with engineering teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
  • Participating in safety reviews and incident investigations related to electrical and instrumentation aspects.
  • Maintaining up-to-date quality records and documentation for audit and future reference.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in QA/QC with a strong focus on electrical and instrumentation applications within the industrial sector (e.g., petrochemicals, oil & gas, refining, power).
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant international codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, API, ISA).
  • Professional certification in quality (e.g., CQI & IRCA Certified Lead Auditor, AWS CWI) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience working in a major project (EPC) environment.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical diagrams accurately.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
  • The applicant must possess a valid transferable Iqama (residency permit) in Saudi Arabia.
