Senior Planning/Project Controls Engineer in Abu Dhabi

A leading and confidential company in the market is seeking to hire a Senior Planning/Project Controls Engineer to join its operations in Abu Dhabi. Job Overview

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of planning, scheduling, cost control, and performance monitoring for the company's major projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within the approved budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, the engineering team, and contractors to establish accurate baseline plans, monitor progress, and prepare comprehensive performance reports.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans and work schedules using specialized software such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
• Create and update the project cost baseline and monitor budget adherence.
• Analyze the impact of scope changes on schedule and cost, and prepare analysis reports.
• Prepare periodic project performance reports (progress, cost, KPIs) for senior management and stakeholders.
• Identify and analyze critical paths and potential schedule risks, and propose mitigation plans.
• Manage the process of measuring actual site progress against baseline plans.
• Support bidding teams in preparing proposal schedules and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with the company's established project controls standards and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor junior planning engineers within the team.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience in project planning and controls, with a focus on major infrastructure, construction, oil & gas, or energy projects.
• Excellent proficiency in project planning software, especially Oracle Primavera P6. Knowledge of MS Project is also essential.
• Strong experience in preparing and analyzing cost and schedule reports.
• In-depth understanding of project management principles (PMI) and project controls best practices.
• Exceptional analytical and inferential skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills in English. Arabic language skills are a strong advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Job Location
