Job Description

The appointed Accountant will be responsible for a range of core tasks essential to the accuracy and smooth operation of the company's financial processes. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and verifying daily journal entries and accounts.
• Assisting in the periodic closing of accounts (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Preparing preliminary financial statements and analyzing results.
• Performing periodic follow-up and reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable.
• Assisting in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with other departments to provide supporting financial data.
• Utilizing various accounting software and financial systems efficiently.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in an accounting role. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a similar work environment within Kuwait or the GCC region.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Knowledge of Kuwaiti tax and zakat regulations is a strong advantage.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with a major ERP accounting system (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High integrity and reliability in handling sensitive financial data.
• Language: Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic. Proficiency in English is essential for handling international reports and correspondence.
