Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Accountant will be part of the finance department and will be responsible for a range of core tasks to ensure the accuracy and smooth operation of the company's financial processes. The primary responsibilities expected for this role include:
- Daily Accounts Management: Accurately and timely recording of all financial transactions within the company's accounting system.
- Invoicing & Receivables: Overseeing the issuance of customer invoices and monitoring accounts receivable to ensure collections are made within the stipulated timeframe.
- Accounts Payable Management: Verifying, processing, and arranging payment for supplier invoices according to agreed terms.
- Bank Reconciliation: Performing periodic reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure financial records match.
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of periodic (monthly/quarterly) financial reports that provide a clear view of the company's financial performance.
- Tax Compliance: Contributing to the preparation and procedures for compliance with applicable tax regulations in the UAE, including Value Added Tax (VAT).
- Inventory Monitoring (Sector-relevant): Collaborating with the operations and inventory department to assist in the financial tracking of inventory related to spare parts and garage materials.
- Budgeting Support: Participating in the budgeting and financial forecasting process under the supervision of the Finance Manager.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
To be a successful candidate for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications: Professional certifications such as (CMA, CPA, or equivalent) are a strong added advantage.
- Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 3 years in the accounting field. Previous experience in the automotive, auto parts, dealership, or service center (garage) sector is a significant competitive advantage and highly desired.
- Technical Skills: Advanced computer proficiency and excellent skills in using Microsoft Office software, especially Excel. Practical knowledge of accounting and automated bookkeeping systems (e.g., ERP systems) is essential.
- Soft Skills:
- High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- High integrity and credibility in handling sensitive financial data.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
