Job Description & Key Responsibilities

The appointed Accountant will perform a range of fundamental accounting and financial tasks to ensure the accuracy of financial records and smooth operational flow. The primary responsibilities expected for this role include:

• Daily Accounting Processing: Recording daily journal entries, managing supplier and customer invoices, and ongoing follow-up on receivables and payables.
• Financial Reporting Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of periodic financial reports (monthly/quarterly/annual) and cash flow statements.
• Bank Reconciliation: Performing regular reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure record alignment.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable Management: Monitoring customer (debtor) and supplier (creditor) accounts, ensuring timely collection of receivables and settlement of obligations.
• Compliance & Audit: Assisting in ensuring financial operations comply with internal policies and adopted accounting standards, and preparing for internal or external audit processes.
• Month-End Contribution: Active participation in month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
• System Utilization: Working on the accounting and financial software systems used within the company (e.g., invoice and expense management software).

Qualifications & Key Requirements

To be a successful candidate for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven practical experience of at least 2-3 years in an accounting role. Previous experience in the services, transport, or operational company sectors will be a strong added advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software, especially Excel, is essential.
