Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The appointed Assistant Nurse will be integrated into the Homecare division of NMC Healthcare. The role is centered on providing essential nursing support and direct patient care within the patient's residence, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or medical supervisor. Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering basic nursing care to patients in their homes, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
- Accurately monitoring and recording patient vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration rate) and reporting any significant changes to the supervising nurse or clinician.
- Assisting patients with medication intake as per the specific instructions from the medical team.
- Providing emotional support, comfort, and reassurance to patients and their family members.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the patient.
- Collaborating closely with Registered Nurses, physicians, physiotherapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary homecare team.
- Assisting with simple, supervised procedures as required.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Adhering strictly to infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Qualification: A diploma or certificate in Nursing Assistance (Assistant Nursing) from a recognized institute or college.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Assistant Nurse license from the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) or be eligible to obtain one. Candidates with an already active UAE license will be preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a nursing role, particularly in homecare, outpatient, or hospital ward settings, is preferred. Exceptional fresh graduates may also be considered.
- Personal Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent communication and patient-interaction skills.
- High levels of empathy, patience, and the ability to provide care with gentleness and dignity.
- Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
- Demonstrated reliability and a professional demeanor.
- Flexibility in work schedules and shifts.
- Other Requirements: Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of the Arabic language is a significant advantage. Possession of a valid driver's license is highly advantageous due to the field-based nature of homecare visits.
