Job Overview

The appointed Automation Engineer will be integrated into the People Dynamics technical team in Qatar. The core responsibility will revolve around working with the Siemens PCS7 system, a leading process control system used for industrial automation. This role is pivotal in supporting client operations, ensuring operational efficiency, and contributing to development and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Design & Engineering: Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions utilizing the Siemens PCS7 platform.
• Programming & Configuration: Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) within the PCS7 environment.
• Technical Support & Maintenance: Provide specialized technical support for existing PCS7 systems, perform troubleshooting, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
• System Testing: Conduct detailed testing of automation systems, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements.
• Documentation: Prepare and update comprehensive technical documentation, including system diagrams, user programs, and test reports.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, project teams, and clients to ensure successful project execution and meet expectations.
• Training: Provide essential guidance and training to end-users or technicians on system operation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Academic Qualification: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control & Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Work Experience: Proven hands-on experience (typically a minimum of 3-5 years) working with Siemens PCS7 systems in an industrial environment.
• In-Depth Technical Knowledge:
  • Full proficiency with the Siemens PCS7 platform, including system engineering and programming using CFC and SCL.
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens SIMATIC systems (S7-400, S7-1500).
  • Understanding of industrial network systems (Profibus, Profinet, Industrial Ethernet).
  • Knowledge of process and machine control principles.
• Personal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team, solve complex problems, and manage time effectively.
• Preferred: Possession of Siemens-certified qualifications in PCS7 or related technologies will be a strong advantage.
