Job Description

The Crisis Management Lead will be entrusted with the responsibility of leading, developing, and implementing a comprehensive, organization-wide crisis management strategy for Qatar Foundation. This leader will serve as the cornerstone for anticipating potential risks, proactively planning response protocols, and coordinating operations during an actual crisis event. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the Foundation's resilience against various challenges, from operational incidents to major external events.

Key Expected Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Lead the creation, updating, and implementation of a robust institutional framework for crisis management and business continuity plans.
  • Assessment & Preparedness: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in systems and processes, ensuring the readiness of all departments and units.
  • Crisis Leadership: Assume a leadership role in the Crisis Operations Center when activated, coordinating the response between senior management, communications, security, operations, and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Training & Awareness: Design and deliver regular training programs, workshops, and simulation exercises to ensure all relevant stakeholders understand their roles during an emergency.
  • Evaluation & Learning: Lead post-crisis analysis to identify lessons learned and recommend improvements to policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Partnership Building: Work closely with relevant local government entities (e.g., Ministry of Interior, Qatar Red Crescent) and other bodies to ensure effective coordination.

Requirements and Qualifications

This leadership role demands a candidate with deep, proven practical experience in crisis management, business continuity, or a closely related field.

Core Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Emergency Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in crisis management, risk management, or business continuity, with a significant portion in leadership or coordination roles.
  • Prior experience working within large, complex institutions, preferably in the educational, research, or non-profit institutional sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of international crisis management standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 22301).
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) in both Arabic and English, with the ability to prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
  • The ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels.
